What Can I Make With What I Have?
Pick from an easy to use list of alcohols
and mixers to list all the drinks you can make with your on-hand
ingredients.
The best way to learn to be a bartender is, of course, to go to an accredited bartending school. In the meantime, let BarBug be your on-line bartender. Everything you need to know is displayed for each cocktail recipe. Most of the time, BarBug shows you the type of glass to use and offers suggestions for the proper garnish, too!
Many of the recipes indicate 'Mixing glass with ice' in which you are to SHAKE AND STRAIN the ingredients. Buy a cocktail shaker kit (mixing glass and tin), they are very handy for shaking. The kits usually have a coil wire strainer that makes serving strained drinks easier. Your bar should also have a cork screw, shot glass (1 1/2 oz jigger), stir sticks, tooth picks, straws, coasters, ice bucket & tongs, measuring spoons and cutting board with a sharp knife.
